Now located throughout parts of western Pennsylvania, the Laurel Eye Clinic was founded in 1973 and has expanded to include nine clinic locations and the Laurel Laser & Surgery Center. Opened in 2000, the Laurel Laser & Surgery Center was one of the first ambulatory surgery centers in Pennsylvania that is privately owned and operated by ophthalmologists. A second Laurel Laser & Surgery Center was opened in 2007 in Altoona, Pennsylvania and is equipped with the latest state-of-the-art ophthalmic technology.

Ophthalmologists

Louis D. “Skip” Nichamin, MD Board certified ophthalmologist and Medical Director of the Laurel Eye Clinic and the Laurel Laser & Surgery Centers; extensive experience performing vitreoretinal ophthalmic surgery; focused on cataract and refractive vision correction surgery. Dr. Nichamin provides patient care in the Brookville, Clearfield and Grove City.	Stewart VanHorn, MD Board certified ophthalmologist with clinical, surgical and refractive surgery experience; specializes in cataract and refractive vision correction surgery. Dr. Van Horn practices in the Altoona and Johnstown locations.
Jeffrey L. Bezier, MD Board certified ophthalmologist with over 20 years experience in western Pennsylvania. Dr. Bezier cares for patients in the Grove City, Seneca, and Brookville offices. He currently performs cataract and other ophthalmic procedures at Grove City Medical Center, and the Laurel Laser & Surgery Center.

Optometrists

All of our optometrists have done a residency at the Laurel Eye Clinic.

Dr. George S. Rickard Senior optometrist at the Laurel Eye Clinic. He cares for patients following surgery as well as for routine and family eye care. Dr. Rickard practices in the Brookville, Punxsutawney, New Bethlehem, DuBois, Clearfield, and Seneca offices.	Dr. Rick D. Rombold Follows patients post surgery and provides primary eye care services to adults and children. Practices at the Laurel Eye Clinic offices in Altoona, Brookville, Punxsutawney, New Bethlehem and Clearfield.
Dr. Randy J. Kerr Cares for patients with low vision needs and opens his schedule to work with this special group one Saturday a month. He usually sees patients at the Laurel Eye Clinic in Seneca. In addition, he provides family vision care to patients in Altoona, Brookville and Grove City.	Dr. Daniel L. Amsler Performs family eye care and care following surgery in the Altoona, Brookville, New Bethlehem, Clearfield, and DuBois offices.
Dr. Janice D. Dunkle Provides care to children and adults in the Brookville, Grove City, and DuBois offices. Dr. Dunkle also plays a major role in preparing and testing patients for refractive surgery.	Dr. Michael D. Hancox Practices primarily at the Grove City Laurel Eye Clinic location but also provides care in the New Bethlehem office. Dr. Hancox cares for patients prior to and following surgical procedures as well as routine eye care to all age groups.
Dr. Brian G.B. Gaster Sees patients primarily in Altoona, as well as provides primary vision care to patients in Johnstown. Dr. Gaster also cares for patients who are undergoing refractive eye surgery.
