Dr. Jack Dodick is currently the Chairman of the Department of Ophthalmology at the New York University School of Medicine. As one of the first surgeons in the U.S. to use intraocular implants following cataract surgery, he is a pioneer in the field. Dr. Dodick is also the inventor of Dodick Laser Photolysis, the only FDA-approved method for laser removal of cataracts.
Dr. Dodick received his undergraduate and medical degrees from the University of Toronto. He completed his residency training at the internationally recognized Manhattan Eye, Ear & Throat Hospital and has continued to lead the Department of Ophthalmology here for over 25 years.
Dr. Dodick has served as president of numerous ophthalmologic societies, including the American Society of Cataract and Refractive Surgeons.
