Fry Eye Associates was established in Western Kansas in 1974 by Luther L. Fry, M.D. The practice grew significantly in 1995 with the addition of partner, William S. Clifford, M.D. and associate, Gloria M. Hopkins, O.D. Our practice grew again in 2008 when Dr. Fry’s son, Dr. Eric Fry, M.D. joined the practice. We currently employ over fifty employees including certified ophthalmic assistants and technicians, surgical assistants, registered nurses, insurance and coding specialists and business office personnel. We are also proud to offer several part-time positions to high school and college students interested in learning more about the health care industry.
Together, the physicians’ and staff of Fry Eye Associates support the following mission statement: To provide quality eye care to each individual in a Christian Environment. We will, by our professionalism, courtesy, kindness and expertise, instill a feeling of confidence in each patient. We continue in our goal of education, communication and exchange of ideas to enrich the lives of our patients and ourselves.
We are proud of our team of doctors at Fry Eye Associates. Dr. Fry’s specialty is cataract extraction and intraocular lens implantation. Dr. Clifford specializes in the treatment of corneal diseases and glaucoma. He also performs refractive surgery and cataract surgery. Dr. Eric Fry specializes in oculo-plastics, cosmetic eyelid procedures, cataract and laser surgery. To meet the needs of the patients in our area, we host other eye care specialists at our practice and our doctors’ satellite to nearby underserved areas.
Fry Eye Surgery Center was established in 1997. Our multi-specialty surgery center is a state-of-the-art facility particularly designed for ocular surgery cases. Because of our rural Kansas setting, we found it important to provide the patients in our community an option to expensive hospital fees for relatively minor, outpatient procedures. In addition to performing ocular surgery cases, other professionals also provide pain management injections at our facility.
